Assistant Instructor

Learn how to share your diving knowledge and experience with others. During the 70-hour Assistant Instructor course at TODI, you will practice giving theory lessons, supervising in-water training, and assisting instructors. This way, you continue your journey toward becoming an SSI Open Water Instructor.

What can you expect?

Assistant Instructor Trainers prepare Assistant Instructors to teach theory classes and supervise in-water training. As an Assistant Instructor, you are also authorized to assist Instructors, allowing you to gain valuable experience on your path to becoming a dive instructor.

When you are ready, you can complete the Instructor Training Seminar and advance to SSI Open Water Instructor. Start your journey today to train future Scuba Open Water students.

Prerequisites

  • Divemaster
  • In possession of an Enriched Air Nitrox certification
  • Minimum of 75 logged dives
  • Meet current SSI professional requirements
  • Active status within the SSI system
  • Minimum age: 18 years

Zo verloopt je duik

Aanmelden

Meld je 15 minuten op voorhand aan de balie. Je krijgt een gekleurd polsbandje – draag het altijd zichtbaar, het geeft toegang tot de Experience Zone. Nu start je duikbeurt van 2 uur.

Omkleden

  • Trek je zwemkledij aan
  • Berg je spullen op in een locker (te openen met je polsbandje)
  • Ga blootsvoets naar de vierde verdieping (trap of lift)
  • Eigen duikmateriaal neem je mee

Materiaal ontsmetten & douchen

  • Ga door het voetbad en neem een douche
  • Haal gehuurd materiaal af
  • Ontsmet het in de wasbak en spoel na.
  • Douche opnieuw voor je het water ingaat

Na je duik

  • Ontsmet je materiaal
  • Plaats het materiaal terug
  • Kleed je om
  • Deponeer je polsbandje in de bus – binnen de 2 uur.

Follow-up opportunities and certification

Upon completion of the program:

  • The participant receives the SSI Assistant Instructor certification
  • Professional status is officially registered

After SSI Assistant Instructor, you can continue with:

  • SSI Open Water Instructor
  • Other professional training within the SSI system

Authority with active status

Assistant Instructors with active status may teach, supervise, and issue recognition or certifications for the following programs after completing the Assistant Instructor portion of the Instructor Training Course:
