Today, the former mine site is a unique mix of industrial heritage, recreation, nature, shops, and restaurants. It's ideal for a stroll before or after TODI to discover the impressive mine buildings.
Adventure Mountain
A must-see for families. Via stairs, tunnels, climbing structures, and rope courses, you reach the top of the mining slag heap, offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. Adventure Mountain is also free to access.
Alpamayo
For those who want to go even higher after diving: Alpamayo is a climbing center at be-MINE featuring bouldering and Clip ’n Climb. With the latter, even children as young as four can enjoy various climbing challenges.
be-MINE Mountain Bike Park
A special spot for active visitors: mountain bike trails run across the former mining slag heap, featuring both accessible paths and technically challenging lines, as well as a skills park.
Velotril Bike Rental
If you want to explore the area by bike, you can rent bicycles and e-bikes at Velotril. From be-MINE, you have direct access to the Limburg cycling network, making this a great addition for a full day trip.
Valley of the Zwarte Beek / De Watersnip Visitor Center
Those looking for some peace after the action can walk through one of the region's most beautiful nature reserves. Several signposted walks start from De Watersnip, and visitors can learn more about the nature of the creek valley.
Blueberry Fields
A green estate with blueberry plantations, short walking trails, ponds, and woods. During the season, there are fresh berries, and you can enjoy a snack or drink on the outdoor terrace. A lovely, quiet stop for families and nature lovers.
